Photo Card - Digital

 

This is a digital card that I haven't shared with you yet.  I created this card using My Digital Studio.  This photo was taken during the ice storm we had in December 2008.  The pictures were beautiful but the damage in our area was not.  I love the way this picture turned out though.  As you can see, we had approx. 3 inches of ice during this storm.  The black portion is not part of the card.  I left it there to show you the white border.

Serene Snowflakes Masculine Holiday Card

At my recent workshops, we have focused a lot on holiday cards.  This card was one I created to show some non-traditional holiday colors that you could use for cards for anyone, but especially for the men in your life.

This one uses repeat stamping of the larger snowflake in Bravo Burgandy and the smaller snowflake in Night of Navy.  The bottom portion of the card also had the snowflake stamped in Bravo Burgandy for that tone-on-tone look.

This card has a few layers behind the snowflake focal point.  In the center of the snowflake I added a clear rhinestone brad from the Pretties Kit to pump it up just a bit.

Stamp Set:  Serene Snowflakes and Four the Holidays (Peace on Earth wording)

Cardstock:  Bravo Burgandy, Whisper White and Night of Navy

Ink:  Bravo Burgandy and Night of Navy

Accessories:  Dimensionals and Clear Rhinestone Brad from Pretties Kit

Flying By....

I am inside working on some Save the Date cards for a client's upcoming wedding.  While doing that, my son Cody came home.  He was working on his snowmobile and just fired it up.  He LOVES to snowmobile.  I don't mean "just snowmobile", I mean EXTREME snowmobiling.  He loves speed and he loves it when we have winters with lots of snow and we get really high snowbanks.  You might remember me doing a post about Cody when he entered his first ever SnoX Race at Mount Snow in Dover, Vermont last winter.

When he is bored or when he needs to test out his snowmobile, he rides around the yard at pretty fast speeds and hits the jumps like crazy.  I think he has some "frog" in him the way he just keeps jumping and jumping and jumping...

 

This shot probably doesn't look too bad, but you have to understand that I am out on the wrap around deck on the front of our house looking down the front yard at Cody jumping.  The snowbank he jumped off of is probably about 6 feet high and then he is in the air going down another hill.  He is probably about 15 feet in the air here.

This is a shot of Cody jumping off the same area of snowbanks but heading more up toward the house.  You can see the tops of the cars that are parked out in front of our house.  Just behind the cars is a boulder wall and the yard drops down about 10 feet from there.  Cody must be up in the air here about 20-25 feet.  I seriously love watching him ride.  I should be a nervous wreck, but after 17 years, I think I am used to this dare devil by now.  Luckily he is like a cat when it hits the water with his reflexes and coordination:)) 

Here is one last shot of him "airborn"...  The spray of snow shows the speed he is going...man, I should be gray by now.

Anyway, back to stamping.  I just wanted to share this "flying by" post since time, life, missing blog posts and now - my son- go flying by...

Sparkly Snowman

  

This card is a little different for me.  I actually used a snowman stamp from Inkadinkado along with some Nestabilities Oval and Scallop Oval Dies.  I couldn't help but play with this snowman the minute it arrived at my house today.  The picture unfortunately does not do it justice.  The colors are so much nicer in person and the sparkle really stands out. 

Let's try taking a closer look at the snowman to see if you can see the sparkle and the watercoloring a little better...

  

Ahhh, this is better.  You can see the glitter more clearly in this shot.  The oval and the scallop oval are done by using Nestabilities in my Big Shot Die Cut Machine.  Too much fun:))

The watercoloring was done with an AquaPainter and Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Bordering Blue and Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Crayons.  The Dazzling Diamonds glitter was attached with Tombo Multi Liquid Glue.
