Royal Blog Tour - Wedding Sweet - Wedding Invitation and Favor Box Samples

 

Welcome to the Spring 2010 Royal Blog Tour.  I chose to showcase the Wedding Sweet stamp set for this tour since I have had a few wedding projects in mind that I wanted to play around with.  This way, I actually got my ideas made up into samples - yeah!

I wanted to not only create a wedding invitation, but also a wedding favor of some sort.  I decided to use Almost Amethyst along with Sage Shadow and Whisper White for these samples. 

You will notice that the bride and grooms names are peaking out of the top of the invitation.  I also made a belly band out of cardstock and added a flower accent.  This band helps to hold the card closed.  You could certainly do a flatter flower (or flatten this one out more) in order to put it into an envelope and mail it.  I just happen to be going nuts making these flowers and wanted to put it on my invitation as well. 

The Stampin' Up! supplies I used to create this wedding set are:

Stamp Set:  Wedding Sweet

Cardstock - Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow and Whisper White

Ink:  Almost Amethyst and Sage Shadow

Accessories:  Big Shot, legant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Bigz XL Bag with Scallops Die, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die, Scallop Circle Punch, Crimper, Paper Piercer and Mat and a Silver Brad

Here is a closer shot of the wedding favor I made.  It is hard to see the scallop circle flap on the box since it is covered with ribbon and my flower accent.

When you open the wedding invitation, you will see all the information about the wedding on the top.  The bottom of the card contains a pocket with the RSVP.  I layed the band for the card across the pocket portion of the card.

 

Here is a close-up of my flower and leaves on my band.  I put a Whisper White flower on my invitation and an Almost Amethyst flower on my favor box.

Wedding Gift

As most of you know, my niece was married this weekend out in Oregon.  I made this for her as a special wedding gift from me to her.

Her wedding colors were coral for the bridesmaids and chocolate for the maid of honor so I made an album that color coordinated.  This is a Stampin' Up! Mellow Moss linen album (6x6) that I have stenciled on using Chocolate Chip Craft Ink.  I let the image dry slightly before adding some Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint with a sponge dauber over the stencil.  You can see the sparkle to the cover if you look closely.  I tied on a piece of Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon and added their names and date in the corner with a fabric marker.

The inside pages are all complete pages where she just pops in her pictures and has a completed wedding album in no time!  I really hope she likes it!!

Wedding Save the Date Cards

Many of you have asked me about my "Save the Date" cards that I have been making for a client of mine so I thought I would share the finished product with you here.

 

Wendy's colors are black, white and silver for her New Year's Eve wedding.  She liked the scroll design for her cards so this is what we decided upon.  Simple, yet elegant.

 

I made a total of 75 Save the Date cards for Wendy.  I will be working on her wedding invitations next.  I have been having so much fun working on this project with Wendy.  She is just a hoot:))

Seaside Wedding Guest Book

As promised, today I am posting my guest book that I made for my friend's wedding.

I have posted both the card I made for her and the wedding favors that she asked me to make for the reception.  In order to match the decorations, favors and theme of her reception, the guest book was also kept simple with a seashell theme. 

I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up! called "Seaside.  I really love this stamp set and cannot wait to incorporate it into my scrapbooking.  I am actually going to make Janice and her hubby a custom scrapbook for her wedding photos using this stamp set and color scheme.  She has some great photos of her wedding ceremony on the beach in Jamaica that would look wonderful in a scrapbook. 

For this guest book, I stamped the shells onto Creamy Caramel cardstock in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder.  I cut out each shell individually and placed them on my waves on the bottom of the book and then added some white gel pen both to the shells and to the side of the book to add some interest.  Janice wanted very simple decorations so I did not add any ribbon or anything too sparkly (other than clear embossing) to this book.

Seashell Stamp Set Wedding Favors

Wedding favors anyone? 

As one of the services I offer, I make custom items for weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and other special occasions.  This is one of the projects that I worked on this week for a friend of mine, Janice. 

Janice and her husband went to Jamaica to get married on the beach.  They decided to do a wedding reception with their family and friends the week after they returned from their trip.  Janice wanted simple wedding favors with a beach theme for the tables and asked me to make 120 favors for her reception. 

After picking the favor she wanted to use, I went to work punching out the cardstock, stamping the images and watercoloring the seashells.

You can see from this picture how I assembled the bottom layer to the Peppermint Patties.  I made an assembly line and did about 40 favors at one time.

This final picture shows the assembly and stacking of the favors in piles of five so I could count the favors as I went along. 

Yesterday I showed you the card I made for the wedding and today I featured the wedding favors.  Tomorrow you will see the coordinating guest book.
