Flower Pot Cards

Each month I hold a downline meeting for the girls in my Stamped Art from the Heart group of Stampin' Up! demonstrators.  This month I decided to do a fun Make and Take project of flower pot cards.  I posted a supply list to tell the girls what supplies they needed but kept it pretty general so that everyone would bring different colored cardstock and Designer Series Paper for their projects.

Here are some of the samples of the cards that were made:

 

This is Jacquie's card that she didn't quite finish.  She is going to add ribbon and finish off her flowers when she gets home.  I love the color combination used for this card!

 

This is Carol's card that she made using up some of her Sale-a-Bration Designer Series paper and punched out centers for her flowers instead of buttons.

 

This is Ilene's sampl where she also used punched centers for her flowers and added some gel pen to accent her petals.

I didn't realize until now that I missed getting photos of all the projects.  I had about 3-4 samples out and Shiloh who is new to our group also had a version that she made using Bella Rose Designer Series Paper.

I will post another version of this card during a blog hop coming up on April 27th.  On April 28th I will post a full tutorial on how to make these fabulous cards.  Right now you will just need to make due with these fabulous samples:))

Today's Demonstrator Class Meets the Big Shot...

Today was my quarterly demonstrator class that I hold for the girls in my group.  We have so much fun when we get together to stamp and today was no exception.  We did a total of five projects today and 3 of them used the Big Shot.  We used every thing from the new Texturz Plates, Bigz Dies, Decorative Strip Die and even a Sizzlits Die.  One project alone used three different types of dies.  I wanted to incorporate different projects using different sized dies and let the girls know which "sandwiches" to make for which dies since they all vary.  I even typed up all of the project instructions and listed which sandwiches to use for which die as a reference since we have a couple of new demonstrators in our group.

Here are two more of my girls.  Jacquie is on the left and Carol "M" is on the right.  Both Jacquie and Carol and been demonstrators with me almost since I started.  These are two very talented ladies right here!

 

Next we have Tina who started out as a customer and became not only a dear friend, but one of my downline recently.  She and Carol B are from nearly two hours away and drive to my classes and events at my house.  I have become very close to each and every one of my downline.  They are truly very special people to me.  

 

We were even joined by Jacquie's daughter Natalie who was "Stampin' Up!" a storm of her own in the sunroom just quiet as a mouse.  She actually made a card, a gift bag and an entire handmade scrapbook on her own while we did our class!  I hope her mom plans on signing her up as a demo in 8 years when she is old enough:))

Happy Heart Day and Earn Some Extra Income!

I have been holding off posting this sample because it was a surprise card that I mailed out for my "Monthly Monday Mailer" card.  I have started a monthly mailing program with my downline (other Stampin' Up! demonstrators in my group) where we sign up each month to be part of this program.  We are assigned someone to send a card to and on the first Monday of each month, we pop a card in the mail to our assigned person.  Who doesn't love to receive a handmade card in the mail?  I know that it brightens my day.  I also know that I don't send cards nearly enough - even though I make them all the time and have a stash of them!

This card also happens to be one that was my Make and Take project at my workshops in January.

Cardstock:  Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette Designer Prints Paper, Riding Hood Red Designer Prints Paper and Whisper White

Stamp Set:  Happy Heart Day (words)

Ink:  Riding Hood Red

Accessories:  Scallop Edge Punch, Three Hearts Punch, Word Window Punch, Big Shot, Scallop Envelope Bigz Die.

We also gussied up the inside of the card a little with an added punched heart and a strip of the Riding Hood Red Designer Prints Paper.

 

I hope that Jacquie enjoys her surprise card in the mail.

Wild About You

Do you love the Wild About You stamp set from Stampin' Up!?  If so, here is a cute large square card for you to check out. 

I actually had this sample ready to post on my blog but had so much else going on that it never got posted. 

This is a card sample from my Dream Big Promotion dinner last month.  It was one of three projects that we made that night.  This is a 5 1/2" square card.  I have to say that I think square cards are my favorite style card to make. 

This is an interesting color combination that uses Bravo Burgandy, So Saffron and Certainly Celery for the main colors of this card.  The lion was colored with markers and stamped onto the cardstock.  To accent his eyes, we colored them in after the lion was stamped.  The circles you see under the brads were just a small circle punched out of cardstock with the brads attached in the center. 

This would be a cute "guy" card.  It would be good for an anniversary, thinking of you, birthday or even a Father's Day card from you to your honey!

Spring Fling Event Planner's Dinner

Before our Spring Fling Event, the people involved in the planning - the advisory board and the demonstrators demonstrating, went out to dinner with our special guest speaker, Tina Rosenkrans from New Jersey.

You have probably read about Tina in my previous posts.  She is such a hoot and a blast to be around.  She has been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator for over 13 years and is a fabulous speaker and business person.  I love spending time with her and learning new things (or sometimes teaching her new things...tee hee).

Anyway, here is a picture of our Tina hopping on a row bike that Kathi's husband Doug had ridden over to the restaurant.  Usually, we don't let Tina drive things on her own.  She has a history of running scooters into trees (like on the Stampin' Up! cruise to Bermuda last month).  Doug walked along side of Tina while she tried to pump the bike and steer at the same time.  Let's just say that she missed the tree she was heading for, but had to holler out to a group of innocent people chatting by their car to move out of the way:))  As you can see from part of our group standing in the background watching, we were all laughing hysterically watching Tina try out this bike.  Even the people that had to scoot over out of the way were laughing....

Carousel Note Pocket Card

Here is a sample of a pocket card that I demonstrated at our Stampin' Up! group's Spring Fling event yesterday.

I call it a pocket card, but it could be used for many things - it could hold a gift card or money for a gift for someone.  It could be used on a scrapbook page to add a photo or journaling on the little card insert.  It could just be a card that you give someone for a special occasion.  It is a pretty versatile, pretty adorable way to do a little 4 1/4" square card.

The card uses the following Stampin' Up! supplies:  Cardstock - Soft Sky, Groovy Guava, Chocolate Chip and Whisper White as well as Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper.  The stamp set used is "Live Your Dream" with Chocolate Chip and Groovy Guava Ink. The little tab coming off of the top of the card is Soft Sky Double Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon.

For the scalloped part of the pocket, I used a Groovy Guava Carousel Note that is found in the Occasions Mini Collection 2008 catalog and cut it into quarters.  I then used the Pick a Petal Classy Brass Template to line up my scallops with and punch out the holes in the cardstock.  I also used that same template to do the piercing.  I then used a Chocolate Chip Stampin' Write Marker to do the faux stitching to add more detail and character to the card.  It also picked up the Chocolate Chip color used as accents on the card and tie everything together. 

I am just so in love with this stamp set, Designer Series Paper and color combination I cannot even begin to tell you.  Actually, you have probably already gotten that impression from the postings on my blog.  I have used this paper and stamp set a LOT.  I am now on my 5th package of Afternoon Tea Designer Series Paper!!  I just can't get enough of it:))

Dream Big Promotion Dinner - Lovely as a Tree Sample

Here is a sample of a card that I got to make at my upline, Cheryl's Dream Big Promotion Dinner.  In order to attend the dinner, we had to meet certain goals in either sales or recruiting in order to earn a night of dinner and card making.  I earned this dinner when I had a hostess sign up to become a demonstrator in March. 

This is one of the three cards we made after dinner.  This sample is made with the Lovely as a Tree stamp set by Stampin' Up!  It is one of my favorite sets to use for a masculine card or a holiday card.

If you would like to earn dinner at our next Dream Big Promotion, you could do so by signing on to become a demonstrator with me.  The invitation to the dinner is open to the demonstrator who accomplishes the goal and also to the person who signs on as a demonstrator.  It is a great way to meet people in our group, have a great dinner and make fabulous projects to use at your future classes or events!

Carousel Notes and Afternoon Tea "Peek"

Here is a sneak peek of a project that I have been working on for an event I am demonstrating at next Saturday.  I cannot show the whole sample and give away the project before the event so I thought I would just give you a little "peek" of it.

I will have a bunch more samples to post next week using the incredibly fun Carousel Notes from Stampin' Up!'s Occasion Mini Catalog (which is good until May 31st).  I won't be able to show the full samples of my projects until after "Spring Fling" which is our Stampin' Up! demonstrator event being held in Keene, New Hampshire. 

Spring Fling is an event held each year for demonstrators in our area.  It is open to current demonstrators and their guests who are considering the Stampin' Up! business opportunity and would like to know more about what we do.  It is an all day training that goes from approximately 9 am until about 3 pm.  We have demonstrations of new techniques and ideas and we also have a Make & Take session where we will be making four projects and taking them home with us so we have ideas for our classes and upcoming events.  It is always a lot of fun!  We get to see demonstrators from all over New England - they are usually from Connecticut, Massachusettes, Vermont and New Hampshire.  This year we are even having a special guest speaker, who is my fifth level upline, from New Jersey.   I can't wait to see Tina, she is such a blast and will most likely have a fantastic talk planned.  Here's Tina in this photo.  Some of you probably remember me talking about her from Leadership Conference back in January.  She is such a hoot!

Anyway, I am one of eight demonstrators presenting projects at this event.  I will have a display board of samples using the Carousel Notes and will demonstrate three to four projects during the afternoon session of the event.  We are also having a WOW card swap and two 3-D WOW swaps among each other.  I am so excited to see what projects everyone makes for the swaps.  I always leave with fabulous samples to use from this event!

My Downline Group Meeting

Tonight was my Stamped Art from the Heart group meeting night.  I decided to make a fun treat for tonight's meeting.  Here is a picture of my Sour Cream Sugar Cookies with Homemade Frosting.  I added a couple of M&Ms on the cookies and scattered them on the plate for even more interest...and, of course, chocolate:))

Here is a cute little sample card using the adorable Happy Heart Day stamp set from Stampin' Up!  I will be posting more samples using this set over the next couple of days.  It is such a fun set and just too darn cute:))

Embrace Life Altered Notebook

How would you like to receive this adorable altered notebook?  Well, my upline are lucky enough to be the recipients of them at Leadership Conference this week.  I actually fly out early in the morning on Wednesday and return home to Vermont, Sunday night.  When this actually posts on my blog, I will already be in sunny Palm Springs!  You have got to LOVE technology...well, on most days anyway.

Anyway, back to the subject at hand.  I will be seeing three of my upline at Leadership
Conference.  Since they are from New Hampshire, Ohio and New Jersey.  We usually can only get together at the big Stampin' Up! events like Leadership Conference, Convention, Regionals and on Cruises.  This altered notebook will be given to them on Thursday this week.  I am really excited  about how these turned out. 

These are two of my three samples.  The third one is the style notebook of the pink version, but done in the peachy tones.

The long notebook is done by using Apricot Appeal, Groovy Guava, Really Rust, Mellow Moss and Always Artichoke Stampin' Write Markers.  The pink one is done in Pixie Pink, Pink Passion, Gable Green and Green Galore.  I used Stampin' Write Markers and also Aqua Painters for touches of this project. 

I accented the notebooks with White Gel Pens and half-back pearls from the Pretties Kit.  The pens actually have my upline's names on them, but I turned them around for this photo.  I wouldn't want them to see which one they are getting ahead of time, now would I?

I hope that they enjoy the notebooks as much as I enjoyed making them.  The only bummer is I didn't make one for myself.  I will have to get on it when I get back home from Palm Springs:))
