Preview - New Stampin' Up! Level 3 Hostess Set - Happiness Always

Do you want a sneak peak at a sample using the new Level 3 Hostess Set called "Happiness Always"?  If you said yes, that is the right answer:))

This is a card that I am doing for two swaps.  One swap is a 2008 Fall/Winter Idea Book & Catalog swap with a group of demonstrators here at home and another batch if for Stampin' Up!'s annual Convention next week in Salt Lake City, Utah.  I am so-o-o excited about Convention this year I can't even begin to tell you.  It is always SO MUCH fun seeing all of the demonstrators I have met all over the United States, Canada and Hawaii.  We actually have demonstrators from Australia attend Convention.  Since Stampin' Up! has expanded to many countries now, I think we will have a good variety attending Convention this year since it is Stampin' Up!'s 20th Anniversary!  I hope to meet a whole group of new demonstrators while I am there!

Oh, I should mention that the paper behind the card in the background is a piece from our new Bella Rose Designer Series paper.  It is just scrumptious!  I will show you more of that in future posts so stay tuned.

This card is actually a little bit of a modified version of my swap card.  The flowers and the words are both from the "Happiness Always" Level 3 Hostess Stamp Set.  The words actually match our Decor Elements collection.  I cannot wait to make a framed item using this set with words and also putting the "Happiness Always" from the Decor Elements collection up on my wall.

This card has some special elements on it.  The flowers are stamped in two new 2008-2009 In Colors - Pink Pirouette and Kiwi Kiss.  I also added a little bit of So Saffron to the center of the flowers.  So Saffron happens to be my favorite color yellow and I love it with this color combination.  I am just LOVING the new In Colors.  I thought I would miss the old ones terribly, but the minute my demonstrator pre-order arrived and I got to open them up and play with them...man, I am in love!

I accented the flowers with a little Creamy Caramel and the new Riding Hood Red - both brushed lightly on with an aqua painter under the flowers to add a little shadowing.  I also added some old olive marker in the piercing in the corners to create the faux stitching.  The ribbon is our 5/8" wide Old Olive Grosgrain.  Oh, did you notice the scalloped edges?  That is made from our NEW SCALLOP EDGE PUNCH!  Anyone who knows me, knows that I am punch happy.  Whenever there is a new catalog that comes out, I am all over the new punches and accessories.  I just love the punches and the versatility of them.

I also added a touch of Crystal Effects to the flowers and then added some Dazzling Diamonds glitter - my friend Tina in Brandon, Vermont will love this card with the glitter:))  (Hi, Tina!)

The card in this post is actually my daughter's 19th birthday card.  The swap cards are a little different, but I don't want to give away the surprise for the people getting the other swaps...

Scallop Notes Swap Card

This is the card that I brought to the demo only shoebox swap last Friday.

I wanted to use the Scallop Notes from the Stampin' Up! catalog.  Scallop Notes have this fun scalloped edge and come in Very Vanilla, Soft Sky and Kraft.  They are 4 x 2 1/2" and come with matching envelopes.

I used Baroque Motifs stamp set for this design.  I stamped the background in River Rock, Soft Sky and River Rock for the medallion on the front.  Add a touch of River Rock Double Stitched ribbon and piercing the scallops and you have a nice quick and easy card.

Fun with Rub-Ons

How are these for fabulous items made with rub-ons? 

I absolutely LOVE rub-ons.  They are so much fun and so very versatile.  They stick to practically any surface and add a special touch to any project. 

The samples you see here were on display at Spring Fling.  Rub-ons were used on the lampshade, on the teapot, on the little gift bag, the photo frame and the glass jar.

I would love to see projects that you have created using rub-ons.  You can email a .jpg photo directly to me - who knows, it might end up on my blog:))

HAPPY EASTER Place Setting Cards:))

Happy Easter everyone!  I wanted to get this post done last night so you would all receive it in your inbox on Easter, but my hubby and I stayed later at a wedding reception than we ever thought we would so I didn't have this ready to post until Easter day. 

Anyway, I wanted to share my little place setting cards for my dinner table on Easter day.  I just love being creative with my punches and this little bunny is no exception.  Some of you have seen the other bunnies that I have made using punches for my candy wrappers  I thought that I would try something different and use the scallop circle punch for his little face.  It makes him look a little furry, doesn't it?

Once I had my little bunny all punched out, I used a mini glue dot to attach the bunny head to a  Hershey's Kiss so it would stand up at my place settings.  I used the Word Window Punch to punch out the little tag on the side where I wrote each person's name that was coming for dinner. 

I am so excited about my tablescape for Easter!  It will be so stinkin' cute:))  I have a potted Hyacinth and mini yellow daffodills that will be sitting in the center of the table as well.  I also have an adorable crystal basket that I will be filling with candy.  Anyone else want to come over for dinner and get a cute little bunny place setting card with candy to take home with you?

NEW Carousel Notes and Live Your Dream

What are Carousel Notes you ask?  Well, good question...  They are the scalloped circle that is shown in this picture in Groovy Guava.  They measure slightly less than 6" in diameter.  They come in three assorted colors per package - Groovy Guava, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.  What is even better is that they also come with fabulous Chocolate Chip envelopes!

I love the Designer Series Paper 'Afternoon Tea' which is the paper that is used on this sample.  The images match the ones found in the 'Live Your Dream' stamp set by Stampin' Up! and can be found in our Occasions Mini Catalog right now.  The accent ribbon is actually our new Chocolate Chip Twill Tape from the same mini.

The top layer is actually a circle that was cut out using our Coluzzle cutting system to make a flap front that opens.  This could be an actual card or an accent on a scrapbook page.  The punched hole in the top layer shows people where to open it.  It is also sponged in Close to Cocoa ink to make it stand out and to give it definition.

Happy Valentine's Day

This is the little gift set that I am leaving out for my hubby Valentine's Day morning.  We usually leave each other something the night before a holiday or an event.  That way, when we wake up and come downstairs in the morning there is a surprise on the dining room table waiting for us.  This is the card and little candy jar that I am leaving as my morning surprise.

I reworked this Happy Heart Day card from the original red version so that it would coordinate better with my candy jar.  I used Wild Wasabi cardstock and double stitched grosgrain ribbon and I actually think it makes a nice masculine Valentine card. 

I made the candy jar by applying rub-ons to the front of the jar and adding a White Taffeta ribbon to keep it simple.

Merry & Bright Holiday Planner

Today I thought it would be fun to post a little Holiday Planner using the Merry & Bright stamp set and Dashing Designer Series Paper from Stampin' Up!

This liltle planner starts off using the On Board 5x5" Chipboard Journal; Real Red, Old Olive and Whisper White Card Stock, Basic Black Ink Pad, Real Red and Old Olive Stampin' Write Markers, Spiral Punch. Tab Punch and 1/4' Real Red Grosgrain Ribbon. 

I like to have a place to keep all of my ideas and plans for the holiday season.  This little planner is small enough to tuck inside a purse or a bag when going out so that you have it handy when you need it.  I made tabs to keep track of my gifts, my holiday cards and my holiday menu.

In the GIFTS section, I will keep a list of all the people I need to guy gifts for this year - family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc.  I wil also keep a list of ideas for gifts for each person in this section.  When I make or purchase the gift, I will check off that my gift recipient is all taken care of and what I ended up doing for them.

In the CARDS section, I will keep things like my holiday card mailing list and a place to check off who I sent cards to and who I have received them from.  I will make a note of people to add to my mailing list so I don't forget anyone the following year.

In the MENU section, I will list my menu planned for the holiday and what items I need to purchase to make them.  I will also include my favorite family recipes and decorating ideas for the table.

When my little planner is complete, I will be tucking it into my holiday decorations for next year so that when i pull them out, I have my little journal of what I did this year.  I can see what gifts I purchased for people and what cards I need to send out.  My menu will be mostly planned and my favorite recipes will be on hand to make again. 

This little planner would make a great gift for an older child just starting out creating holiday traditions on their own, your parents or your friends.  It would be a great hostess gift if you are going to someone's house for Thanksgiving dinner (or dessert).  Change the theme of the album and create a wedding planner, a baby shower planner, a home remodeling journal or any other type of big event planner.  Imagine having your paint or fabric swatches on hand in this book that you carry with you and when you come upon some incredible find in your travels, you can whip out your planner and compare the swatch or color reference handy!
