Northampton Winter Craft Fair - December 1 and 2, 2012

Mark your calendars for the Northampton Winter Craft Fair happening this weekend - Saturday, December 1st and Sunday, December 2nd at the Northampton High School located at 380 Elm Street in Northampton, MA.  We are open from 9:30 am until 4:30 pm both days.  Admission is only $3 and there is plenty of free parking available.

With over 90 vendors spread out over two floors, there are plenty of items available to meet all of your holiday gift giving needs.

I will be bringing my art scarves, fiber arts, hair accessories, pins, etc.  I will have a variety of items to suit your gift giving needs from the "big gift items" to stocking stuffers and packaging decorations.

I am located on the lower level in Booth #76 - be sure to stop by!

Little Drummer Craft Fair - Saturday, November 19, 2011 - 9 am - 4 pm

I have been crafting some new creations for the Little Drummer Craft Fair at the Franklin County Technical School in Turners Falls, MA on Saturday, November 19th from 9 am - 4 pm. 

This is THE place to be on Saturday if you want to go to a really awesome craft fair with a great selection of incredible crafts to chose from!  Many of the crafters are from the previous Candy Cane Carnival in Greenfield so you know many of us from there.

This is an indoor craft fair with plenty of free parking.  Admission to the craft fair is also free.

Crafts include knitted and other fiber arts, quilts, woodworking and carved products, painting, lotions and salves, lav...ender products, herbal crafts, soaps, word bricks, candles, dried floral, fudge, jams & condiments, gifts for your pets, handbags, jewelry, greeting cards and other paper crafts, felted bags and soft toys, and much more!

There will also be raffles, refreshments courtesy of FCTS culinary students, and a bake sale. Look for your favorite Candy Cane Carnival Craft Fair vendors and artists at the Little Drummer Craft Fair!

Gilfeather Turnip Festival - Craft Fair and Farmer's Market

It is time again for the Gilfeather Turnip Festival in Wardsboro, VT!  If you haven't been to this festival, I highly recommend taking the day to come down and check it out.  There is a craft fair (which I will be set up at in the tent), a farmer's market (downstairs in the Town Hall), Turnip Cafe for "Gilfeather Turnip" themed lunch offerings (I can't get enough of the Gilfeather Turnip Soup!) and Gilfeather Turnips for sale by the pound (and also seeds to grow them in your own garden).

I will be set up in the tent this year so be sure to stop by and see me.  I will have a bunch of items set up for sale including, but not limited to, my hair accessories (headbands, ponytail ties and clips), crocheted items and needle felting.

The event is held on Saturday, October 22 from 10 am until 4 pm.

Ribbon Roses

 

Yesterday I mentioned having an obsession for making fabric flowers.  I also have an obsession for these ribbon roses.   I have been making them and putting them on all sorts of items for my craft fairs.  They were a pretty big hit at the Blueberry Festival last week.

 

I have made many of these in a variety of colors, styles of ribbon and even out of fabric.  I really like the way they have turned out.  Be sure and stay tuned for more styles of these showcased on different project in the future.

Fabric Flowers - Headbands

 

I think I have a serious obsession for these stinkin' cute fabric flowers!  I just cannot stop making them since I started almost a year ago.  They make the most adorable little headbands.  Young and the "not so young" alike are falling for these guys.

 

The little green headband was purchased for this adorable little girl.  Her grandma made her beautiful blueberry dress just for the Blueberry Festival.   Her mom came over and purchased the headband for her to wear too.   How adorable is she?!

Craft Fair Updates

I just revised my 2011 Craft Fair Schedule to include:

• July 30 - Blueberry Festival Craft Fair - Dover, VT -10 am until 4 pm
• August 21 & 22 - DeerfieldValley Farmer's Day Fair -Craft Fair and Demonstrations - Wilmington, VT - Saturday, August 21 - 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday, August 22 - 9 am - 3 pm

If you haven't been to either of these fairs, let me tell you a little about them.  The Blueberry Festival is a week long event held in Dover and in Wilmington, VT from July 29 through August 7.  The craft fair is on Saturday, July 30th from 10 am until 4 pm on the lawn of the Andiron's in Dover.  To learn more about this festival, check out the website here.  The Blueberry Festival Parade is held the same day as the craft fair and begins at 11 am.  This is a great family event you will not want to miss.

I somehow missed adding the Deerfield Valley Farmer's Day Fair to my first posting.  This is my fourth time doing this event and it is so much fun for the entire family.  For more information, check out the fair website.  This fair runs for four days.  It starts on Thursday, August 18 through Sunday, August 21.  The craft fair and demonstrations are on Saturday, August 21 from 9 am - 5 pm and Sunday, August 22 from 9 am - 3 pm.  Be sure to stop by and watch my demonstrations or make a little project to take home.  You can also book your Stampin' Up! workshop with me too.  I will have my calendar, NEW catalogs and hostess packets there with me.

I hope you stop by to see me at some of my craft fairs and events this year.  I have so much fun doing them and love seeing you call when you stop by.

Gearing up for my Craft Fairs!

As many of you already know, I do many craft fairs and vendor events in the summer, fall and holiday season each year.   I do private in-home shows over the winter and appreciate all of you that booked shows in your homes.  This was my best winter online ordering and in-home show season yet.

Some of you have been asking about the events I will be doing this year.  I haven't finalized all of my dates yet so be sure to check back for updates.  Here is what I have so far:

May 21 - Jamaica Fiber Fest, Jamaica Town Hall, VT - I will be bringing a lot of my fabric items here with my other craft items.  Be sure to stop by and visit!

July 4 - Wardsboro Street Fair - Fourth of July, Wardsboro, VT - If you have not attended the Wardsboro Street Fair, you don't know what you are missing.  Homemade strawberry shortcake and pies can be found as well as a parade and a HUGE street fair lined with vendors.  I will have a 10x10 tent set up with all my goodies so be sure to stop by and browse!

July 30 - Jamaica Old Home Days, Jamaica, VT - The streets of Jamica village are lined with vendors and food booths.  We start at noon and end with a parade.  This is a nice little fair to enjoy with your family.

September 3 & 4 - Garlic Festival, Bennington, VT  - (not confirmed yet)

October 8 & 9 - Heritage Festival, Newfane, VT - (I haven't been a confirmed vendor yet.)  If you have not been to this craft fair / festival before, you won't want to miss this one.  I have been to many craft fairs over the years and this one is by far my favorite to shop at.  There are over 80 vendors on the common in Newfane - right in front of the Court House in the beautiful village of Newfane.

October 22 - Gilfeather Turnip Festival, Wardsboro, VT - Another fun little festival happening in Wardsboro.  There are food vendors, craft vendors and even a little eatery set up with all things turnip to try.  Great fun for everyone.  Be sure to stop by.  It is a great day to come and start some of your holiday shopping.

November 18 & 19 - Candy Cane Carnival, Holy Trinity School, Greenfield, MA - This is a HUGE event with two full levels of vendors.  It is the perfect place to do your holiday shopping.  I bring a variety of items and set up my area like a little gift boutique.  I will have holiday themed items as well as regular craft items that include home decor, accessories, fabric items, flowers, snowmen, baby and wedding themed items, etc.  I also do custom items so be sure to ask me about getting something made just for you! 

November 26 - Holiday Craft Fair, Keene, NH - not confirmed yet

December 3 - Christmas Craft Fair, American Legion, Brattleboro, VT - not confirmed yet

You can always book an in-home show at ny time throughout the year.  You can contact me to book your own show.  You can also order online or by email.

You will also be able to find me at the Wilmington Antique and Flea Market most weekends (during the nice weather).  I am usually located in the 4th spot in from the entrance along side the fence near the road (Route 100) side of the flea.  I bring other vending items with me and a small amount of my craft items.  If there is something you would like to see, just let me know and I will bring it with me!

 

Holiday Craft Bazaar and Open House

This week I will be doing my annual Holiday Craft Bazaar and Open House.  I will have tables full of gift items for you to purchase as well as many retired stamping, scrapbooking and crafting supplies for sale.

 

At the Holiday Craft Bazaar and Open House, you will find a selection of many handcrafted gift items including, but not limited too the following:

• Scarves
• Kids' gloves and mittens
• Pincushions
• Coasters
• Baby Bibs
• Ornaments
• Scrapbook Albums
• Flower Headbands, Ponytail Holders, Hair Clips, Magnets and Pins

I will also have some of my vending items that I carry and sell throughout the year which include:

• Jewelry - necklaces, pins, earrings, bracelets, Pandora-type bracelets, Pandora-type glass and silver beads
• Handbags and wallets
• Tote Bags
• Hats, gloves and scarves

You will also find some retired products for sale that include:

• Stamp sets
• Ink pads
• Punches
• Cardstock
• Markers
• Designer Series Patterned Paper
• Scrapbook Kits
• Card Kits that include stamps, ink and cardstock
• Various accessories / embellishments - ribbon, brads, eyelets, hardware, etc.

I will be accepting cash and checks only, no credit cards at this sale.  Please feel free to bring friends with you if you would like.  If you call or email me and let me know that you are coming before the Holiday Craft Bazaar and Open House starts, I will give you a free gift when you arrive. 

Dates and times for the Holiday Craft Bazaar and Open House are:

Wednesday, December 15th - 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Saturday, December 18th - 10 am - 2 pm

If none of those dates and times work for you, please give me a call.  I can arrange to be "open" for you between Wednesday, December 15th beginning at 6 pm through Sunday, December 19th until 11 am.

Be sure to get there early so you get the best selection of items.  There is no limit to the amount of people that can attend at any one time so be sure to bring your friends and shop together.

Craft Fairs Galore!

Yesterday I spent the day with my husband and we headed up to Maine.  There just happened to be a craft fair in Wells that I wanted to check out so we made a day of it. 

 

We got up at 4:30 am and headed out by 5:30 am - yuk!  I searched for other craft fairs in a panic that the one I wanted to go to might not be happening.  I found one in Somersworth, NH that was on our way to Wells so we hit that one at 9 am when it opened.  Somersworth had a HUGE craft fair - about 150 vendors.  They had two gyms and all the hallways filled with craft vendors.  I was in heaven at a couple of the booths there.  Drooling at the creativity. 

Since we had our little dog, Harley with us for the day, we stopped and played ball with her in a big field at the school before heading off to the craft fair in Wells that I was originally planning on attending.  

There were a lot of customers at the Wells Craft Fair.  Hard to move around and look.  I really like to get to a craft fair first thing so I can make a quick run through to see what is being offered and then make a second lap around to browse and perhaps shop.  Since I do so many types of crafts, I don't usually buy much at craft fairs.  I just get ideas and admire other people's talents.  I have always loved attending them.  I did buy one little item at this craft fair though.

After this stop, we took a ride to Wells Beach where we always stop and walk the beach.  It was high tide and where we usually walk was totally engulfed in water, so we went up the road a little further and took a walk on another part of the beach with little Miss. Harley walking along side with us.

 
A little breezy by the water, but a nice day.  It was great to get out and walk for a little while - we had been in the car for hours already today.

 

Our little rescue dog from Tennessee can add another state traveled to her list.  She not only played ball in Somersworth, NH this morning, but she walked on the beach with us in Wells, ME.

After Wells, we headed up to Portland to have lunch at the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives featured "Becky's Diner".  A friend recommended that we try it out so we did.  The parking lot was packed and the food was fabulous.  Definitely worth stopping at!  With our bellies full, we headed about a mile from the diner to our third craft fair for the day.  

This one was incredible, but had a $2 admission price.  I don't know about you, but I hate paying to walk into a craft fair.  I think they make enough money off of the vendors who rent booth space there.  Anyway, there were many talented artisans at this craft fair as well.  TONS of soap / lotion vendors which I always stop at.  I love handmade soaps and lotions and give them away as gifts for Christmas.  There were also some fabulous jewelry vendors.  One stood out among the others.  Her stuff was fabulous using glass beads and wire combinations.  Very expensive, but the quality and the value was definitely there.  I didn't buy anything there but could have if I had extra money to toss around - nice stuff.  There were also handmade leather purses, wooden chairs / stools, 3D stained glass, beaded glass candle holders, a few pottery vendors, crocheted / knitted items, wooden cutting boards, painted crafts, ornaments and dried flowers to mention a few.  I spent $34 there and got four Christmas gifts - yeah!  Can't tell you what they are though:))

On the way home, we were trying to find room to have another seafood meal in a place in New Hampshire that we like.  We were, unfortunately, too full and didn't stop.  We actually never ate dinner at all.  We were in New Hampshire at about 5:30 pm when I saw a sign for another craft fair that was ending at 6 pm.  Don't you know I had to just stop there too.  So, we turned around and I found the most incredible Tole & Decorative Painting booth inside.  She had snowmen, gingerbread men, etc. painted on sleds, wall hangings, ornaments, etc.  I could have gone nuts there if I had tons of money.  I did buy one gift there and also the adorable painted sled you see in the photo above.  LOVE it!

Anyway, that was my day in Maine and New Hampshire yesterday.  Saw some awesome crafts and had some great food.  What a fabulous day!
