Baby Bundle Gift Set - Royal Blog Tour

Today I am sharing some projects that I made using the Baby Bundle Stamp Set from Stampin' Up!  I have been wanting to create some more baby projects and this stamp set is so "stinkin' cute" that I couldn't resist picking it for the tour.

 

I wanted to make a cute little baby gift set for today's post.  First, I started off creating a box to put my gift in.  I wanted to add plenty of layers to make my box more sturdy and also more decorative.  I used punches and embossing folders as well as layers to give the project some depth and character.

 

Wanna know what is INSIDE THE BOX?  Well, you will just have to wait to see.  I will share the contents a day or two after the blog tour is over.

 

 

In this photo, you can see that I stamped the baby buggy image three times and colored in each piece.  First I stamped the base layer and colored it in.  My second layer consists of just the colored in buggy.  The third little layer is the middle section of the buggy top.  I added some silver brads for more dimension and to make them look like the center of the wheels and the little gear that lets the carriage top go up and down.

Of course, no gift set would be complete without a matching card...

Get Ready for the Next Royal Blog Tour!

Hold on to your hats!  It is almost time for another Royal Blog Tour.  I am so excited to share the projects that I have made for the tour.  You can't see them quite yet though, you have to wait for the tour to begin so be on the lookout - we are going live tomorrow and I have some special Blog Candy to share with you too!

Royal Blog Tour - Wedding Sweet - Wedding Invitation and Favor Box Samples

 

Welcome to the Spring 2010 Royal Blog Tour.  I chose to showcase the Wedding Sweet stamp set for this tour since I have had a few wedding projects in mind that I wanted to play around with.  This way, I actually got my ideas made up into samples - yeah!

I wanted to not only create a wedding invitation, but also a wedding favor of some sort.  I decided to use Almost Amethyst along with Sage Shadow and Whisper White for these samples. 

You will notice that the bride and grooms names are peaking out of the top of the invitation.  I also made a belly band out of cardstock and added a flower accent.  This band helps to hold the card closed.  You could certainly do a flatter flower (or flatten this one out more) in order to put it into an envelope and mail it.  I just happen to be going nuts making these flowers and wanted to put it on my invitation as well. 

The Stampin' Up! supplies I used to create this wedding set are:

Stamp Set:  Wedding Sweet

Cardstock - Almost Amethyst, Sage Shadow and Whisper White

Ink:  Almost Amethyst and Sage Shadow

Accessories:  Big Shot, legant Bouquet Textured Impressions Embossing Folder, Bigz XL Bag with Scallops Die, Little Leaves Sizzlits Die, Scallop Circle Punch, Crimper, Paper Piercer and Mat and a Silver Brad

Here is a closer shot of the wedding favor I made.  It is hard to see the scallop circle flap on the box since it is covered with ribbon and my flower accent.

When you open the wedding invitation, you will see all the information about the wedding on the top.  The bottom of the card contains a pocket with the RSVP.  I layed the band for the card across the pocket portion of the card.

 

Here is a close-up of my flower and leaves on my band.  I put a Whisper White flower on my invitation and an Almost Amethyst flower on my favor box.

Kind & Caring Thoughts Candle Holder with Candle

 

During the Royal Blog Tour, we had to limit our photos so you weren't stuck visiting one blog for long.  This was a second photo of the glass candle holder that I wanted to share with you that shows the candle inside.  It brings out the colors in the holder but didn't show as much detail as the photo on its own.

Royal Blog Tour - Kind & Caring Thoughts by Lynn Larson

Today I am sharing three samples with you that I made using the Hostess Level 3 stamp set called Kind & Caring Thoughts.  The minute I saw this stamp set, I fell in love with it.

Because this is a bold image stamp set, it is wonderful to use for a technqiue called Black Magic.  I give this technique a little "twist" and have named what I do "Black Magic with a Twist". 

 

I embossed the card front with my Big Shot and the Textured Impressions Finial Press Embossing Folder to make it pop just that much more.  The white accents on the side were done with my Scallop Eyelet Border Punch.

The inside of the card has white insert that has been cut long enough to punch the border and then layer the trim of black and blue onto the card.  I created a little interest and dimension to the inside by also embossing the strip of Brilliant Blue with the Textured Impressions Finial Press embossing folder.  The words "Thanks so Much" are included in the Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp set.

The second project that I created using the Kind & Caring Thoughts stamp set is a 3-D item.  I wanted to create a little clear glass tealight or votive holder.  I found these cute little glass pots that I liked and wanted to alter. 

I won't explain how to create this project in this blog post since you are supposed to be riding the tour and enjoying many samples today.  I will, however, be posting a tutorial on Tuesday, August 4th that will give you a list of supplies used, step-by-step instructions with photos on how to make a glass item like this on your own!

My third and final project for this blog tour is this quick and easy card in Soft Suede and Crushed Curry.  I really love this color combination!

 

The image is simply done by repeat stamping the flower without reinking it.  I stamped the words in Soft Suede and added some Crushed Curry Polka Dot Ribbon with a mustard button from the Playground button assortment.

 

To finish off my card, I created this insert for the inside.  Too stinkin' cute, huh?!

BLOG TOUR - Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Decor Stencils Featured!

So are you ready to see my samples using Flowering Flowers Stencils from the Stampin' Up! Decor Stencils line?  Here we go...

First I am going to start you off with this two-page 12x12 scrapbook layout.

 

 

As you can see, I stenciled the flowers on my pages.  I use craft ink for this process because it stays wet longer and you are able to spread it around to stencil with it quite nicely.

 

 

Here is a close-up of one of the flowers.  You can see the modulated look to the stenciling by leaving the center of the flower slightly lighter and the shadowing of the edges using a slightly darker color ink.  In this case, I used Apricot Appeal followed by Pumpkin Pie.

 

  

 

You can see in this close-up of the buttons that I used clear buttons and added some cardstock behind them that was stamped in a polka dotted pattern.  The addition of a linen thread bow to the center button finished off the accents quite nicely.

 

 

This card sample shows stenciling on my neutral colored cardstock with the addition of some layers of color with more cardstock and a row of half-back pearls from the Pretties Kit.

 

 

This is a post-it note holder that I made for my WOW swap for my Stampin' Up! Incentive Trip to Hawaii in March.  The top and bottom are made using coasters.  The cover of the holder was stenciled with craft ink and embossed with clear embossing powder.  Two strips of cardstock were added after punching the edge with the Eyelet Border Punch and then finished off with a ribbon.

 

 

I also sponged the edges of both covers and added the words "For You" to complete my swap.
