Yesterday I shared with you a pair of fingerless gloves and matching scarf that I made out of Alpaca and Silk yarn. I have gotten two custom orders just from that post.
I love having nice, warm accessories on cold days. I especially like having a warm neck so the rest of my body stays warm while I am outside.
I wanted to try something a little different than scarves so I started making a few cowls. I have to say that I really love them. First I made one in burnt orange using a nice, soft, chunky yarn. This one really keeps you toasty! It is like that warm cup of tea or hot chocolate just for your neck.
I wanted to try making a lighter and dressier cowl next. I had this beautiful green, 100% Alpaca yarn that I thought I would try. It is softer and more flexible than the chunky cowl. I actually wore this the other day and just love it. It can be worn with or without a turtleneck. It can also be worn inside the collar of a fleece or as an added accent over a crewneck sweater to give your sweater a different look.
I have become so addicted to crocheting again that I decided to make them a new addition to the handmade crafts I offer for sale. You will be able to order these directly from me by email, at my craft fairs or at my studio / holiday gift open houses.
Here is what I need for your custom order:
- Do you want the chunky or dressy cowl?
- What color would you like it in?
- Let me know the measurement around your head (going across your forehead) and whether you want a tighter or looser fitting cowl so I can get an idea of what size to make for you.
- Price: $20 each plus $4 shipping and handling (in the United States). Order more than one - shipping is only $2 for each additional item.
You can also order any of the other crocheted items I will be sharing with you here on my blog. Just check out the "for sale" category to see the variety. Be sure to check back often as I will be continually adding more items for sale. (This is only my second post there.) Some of the items that I have been working on and will be sharing include crocheted hats, flower headbands and baby booties.
Cold and blustery days are upon us. With the holidays just around the corner, why not give the gift of warmth by ordering these functional and handmade items today? Looking for an item that I haven't shown yet? Just ask if I can create it.
Happy crafting and thanks so much for stopping by!
