You have got to check this out! I am having so much fun with my Big Shot and fabrics. I cannot believe how much I use this die cutting machine and how versatile it is. I just LOVE it!
Today I have another felted pincushion to share with you. I just love the primitive look to these pincushions! I used the Clear Flower Die to punch out my fabric for the flower pincushion and wool roving (wool that has been sheared from a sheep, carded and dyed) to create my project.
The needle that you see in the photo is a felting needle. If you look closely, you can see the barring on the stem of the pin that grabs the fibers of the wool and tangles them into the fibers of the background you are "felting" or attaching it to.
From the side, you can see the roving a little better in the center of the flower. I rolled it up into a flat type of ball and felted the burgandy center to the flower. The look of the center is a little fuzzy like the wool.
I will be doing a tutorial on how to do needle felting so stay tuned. I should probably have it ready by
Wednesday or Thursday evening.
Hope you all enjoyed my felted pincushions as much as I do. They are so easy and so much fun to make!
