I have been wanting to play around with this idea for awhile now and finally got around to it. I wanted to make up some Dress Up Kits using some metal DVD tins that I have had sitting around my stamp room for some time now. When the Stampin' Up! / Sizzix Build a Bear line came out, I knew this was exactly what I was going to do with all those tins!
This is the cover of my tin. The bear shown here is actually adhered to the front of the tin and is all dressed up already. When you open the tin....
...this is what you find inside! On the left is my magnetized, undressed bear and on the right are her clothes that you can dress her up in. All the pieces were attached to magnet sheets so they can be layered on top of each other to dress up the bear.
Here is a closer look at her clothing....and...
...here is my bear. She is just waiting for someone to play with her.
This Dress Me Up Tin, along with other variations, will be available at my upcoming craft fairs. I will also be adding them to my Gift Boutique website for purchase online. Be sure to stay tuned for the opening of my Gift Boutique!

Velarie,
I used magnet sheets to make the dress up kit.

my son's birthday is coming up, and I think this would be a great craft idea.
how did you magnetize the bear and accessories?

Hello!
On your dress up build a bear, how did you get the eyes, nose, and mouth to be black? Because when you fun it through the big shot they punch out!
Thanks
