TOUR 4 - STOP 4 - "Only Ovals and Oval Scallop Punch"
Today is the day you have been waiting for! Are you ready to hop on the bus and take today's blog tour? This tour is only available for TODAY (Monday, April 27th) and will be removed from all the blogs tonight at midnight. There are 16 total stops and I am your tour guide for stop #4. At each stop on the tour, your tour guide will give you the link for the next stop so you won't miss anything by starting here with me at the 4th stop!
So, if you are ready, hop on board the bus and let me take you on a tour of my samples using the Oval All Stamp Set and coordinating Oval Scallop Punch from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Catalog.
This first sample just so happens to match very nicely with our Blog Tour Banner at the top of this post:)) I have been making a lot of these Flower Pot cards lately. I just love them so much because they make great cards for just about any occasion and with Mother's Day coming up, I am set with my cards!
Now I know you want to know how to make these adorable Flower Pot Cards. We have a busy schedule for you today so the bus isn't able to stop here long enough for me to share how to make it with you today. Be sure to stop back tomorrow for a step-by-step tutorial and complete instructions to make a card just like this on your own!
I just love Parisian Breeze Specialty Designer Series Paper. Not only are the colors and patterns very striking but it also has a fabulous woven texture. You can see it on the flowers and on the Chocolate Chip Center of the Baja Breeze Polka Dot Flower. I added buttons from the Latte Button Assortment to add more dimension and detal to my flowers. I used my Big Shot and my Spring Flowers Set Sizzlits to punch out the flowers. The leaves are punched out from the Flower Layers with Leaf Bigz Die using Kiwi Kiss cardstock. Check out the details of the embossed vein in the leaf.
My next sample uses the Manhattan Flower Textured Impressions Die and my Big Shot...yes, I do use my Big Shot A LOT:))
I used both Almost Amethyst and Lavendar Lace cardstock along with Whisper White to create this card. The roses are embossed automatically when using the Textured Impressions Die with your Big Shot. I just cut out around the bottoms of the roses to expose the white cardstock underneath.
I used the Eyelet Border Punch to create the two top accent layers and the 1/4" circle punch to punch out the three faux brads on the bottom left corner. Add a little Tombo Multi Purpose glue and some Dazzling Diamonds Glitter for a little pizazz and top it off with the sentiment from the Only Ovals Stamp Set from the Occasion Mini layered with a Scallop Oval Punch in Lavendar Lace.
I also added a little bit of Crystal Effects on my flowers on the oval to make them pop and a little piece of white grosgrain ribbon with the ends trimmed on an angle underneath. The scallop accent is attached using a Dimensional to make it pop more so that it creates dimension to match the embossed roses on the card. You can see in this photo that I also sponged the embossed roses with Lavendar Lace ink to make them pop slightly more on the card.
It is a little hard to see in this photo, but I added some Crystal Effects to my faux brads and sprinkled a little Dazzling Diamonds on top to make them sparkle and shine too.
I hope you enjoyed my stop on the tour. Remember that
Stampin’ Up!’s "Get Connected" promotion is running right now as well. When you spend $40 on Occasions Mini Catalog products (which include the Only Ovals stamp set and Scallop Oval Punch seen here), you can choose any one item from the "Under $10" on page 208 in the Spring-Summer 2009 Idea Book & Catalog for FREE!
BLOG CANDY - As an added bonus, I am offering blog candy for those of you who complete the entire tour. Just leave me a comment at the bottom of this post by midnight Monday, April 27th and let me know your comments on the blog tour and what you liked about the samples you see here at this stop. I will randomly chose a winner to receive my rose card sample (shown above) in this post! Good luck and have fun!
I bid you safe travels and would like to remind you to join me back here on May 15th for another Blog Tour that features items from the Stampin' Up! Idea Book and Catalog and the Decor Elements line.
NOTE: THE LINKS FOR THE BLOG TOUR HAVE BEEN REMOVED SINCE IT IS AFTER MIDNIGHT ON MONDAY, APRIL 27TH. STAY TUNED FOR ANOTHER BLOG TOUR HERE ON MAY 15TH!
Thanks for stopping by and thank you for traveling with me today!
