Online Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Idea Book and Catalog...

   

Today is the day you have all been waiting for!  The online version of the Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Idea Book and Catalog is up and running.  I have it attached to my blog in the right hand column. 

 

I have also attached the Spanish catalog - Celebrando Creatividad as well.  The English version will take a little while to download because it is pretty big.  While it is downloading, grab a cup tea, a pad and pen and sit down to browse and start your wish list. 

Stay tuned for my New Catalog Open House coming soon!  I will have some new products on display for you to see and we will be making a project for you to take home with you.  I will have catalogs available to hand out and I will also have some retired stamp sets and accessories for sale as well.  This is an event you will not want to miss!  I am starting 2009 off with a big BANG!!!

In Color Combinations and other additions to my blog...

While waiting for the online version of the new Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Idea Book and Catalog, I decided to update and change a couple of things on my blog.

First addition is the In Color - Color Combinations chart in the left column of my blog.  Just click on the color chart and the color combination pages will download for you to either view or print off and keep to reference when using your In Color inks, papers and ribbons.

The next thing I changed was updating the Decor Elements catalog.  This is phase 3 of the additions to this line and when you click on the catalog you will see the entire line, including a level 1 and a level 2 hostess set.  There are some fabulous items in this catalog, including our new STENCILS - that's right, stencils!  I am going to be using the stencils in an upcoming class so stay tuned for that.

The last addition was the sample supply list for the projects that are inside of the Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Idea Book and Catalog.  This supply list is no longer included in the catalog.  The version on my blog has a photo of the project, lists the page number it is on in the catalog and gives a list of the supplies used to make that project.  You can always come back to my blog to pul up the supply list for a particular project, or print one out for your reference again.  It is a great inspiration reference guide since the projects are in color and list the supplies.  Find something you like, just change the colors or the stamp set to make your very own creation!

As soon as the Idea Book and Catalog goes live online, I will add it to my blog.  It should be up and running by Tuesday in the late morning at the latest.

NEW Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Idea Book and Catalog

The day is finally here!  Monday, January 19th is the premiere of the new Stampin' Up! Spring / Summer Idea Book and Catalog and I am so excited to share it with you!  There are some fabulous new stamp sets, Designer Series Papers, PUNCHES (my favorite from each new catty), many new accessories that will just knock your socks off.

Haiku Designer Series Paper, Stitched Exotics and Flight of the Butterfly...

 

Remember the downline holiday party that I had earlier this month where I was sharing some of the gifts that were made for the gift exchange?  Well, here is another project that I am going to share from my downline, Carol Millay. 

Carol used Stampin' Up!'s Haiku Designer Series Paper along with Stitched Exotics and Flight of the Butterfly Stamp Sets.  The center of the purse was done using the Top Note Die and the Sizzix Big Kick.

Another project that was made in green...didn't anyone tell these guys that I am supposed to get all the green gifts? :))

Weekly Organization Tip (PLUS Bonus Links) - Sunday, January 11, 2009

Thank you all so much for your comments on the addition of "Organization Sunday" to my blog.  It seems to be a popular topic for a lot of us!  I know that posting here each week is keeping me more focused on my goal of being more organized and that is a good thing:))

So, how did you all make out with your inboxes?  Did you get them cleaned out?  Are you staying on top of them?  If you didn't finish that task, keep working on it until you get it done.  I know mine is a long process with all the groups that I belong to. 

ORGANIZATION TIP - Did you know that you could "filter" email to be received in folders instead of directly into your inbox?  I have some of the emai that I receive from groups on a regular basis set up to be filtered directly into a folder that is named for that group.  The email that I filter are not urgent ones that I need to respond to so I can go back and read them at my leisure when I get a free moment.  This keeps my inbox free of less important messages and allows me to respond to more urgent email in a timely manner.  

If you don't filter your email and would like to, why not research how you can do that through your email program and set that up?  I would like to hear how many of you added filters to your email.

This week I have a couple of links for you to check out.  I am sure some of you may have heard of places to go for organizational tips and ideas.  I thought that I would highlight some of my favorites here:

1. I have been utilizing a site called Fly Lady for many years now.  This is a great site to learn more about keeping on top of your home, your kids and your meals.  There are lots of tips on decluttering and organizing.  This site is all about creating routines and doing them continually.  No matter where you are with your organizational needs, be sure to start in the Getting Started Section.  There is a LOT of information on this site and it can be quite overwhelming when you first start out. 

2. Another helpful site is called Mommysavers.com.  There are a lot of topics listed here - one of which being Organization.  Some articles from this website are highlighted below.

3. Another great link is to an article on Mommysavers called 10 Easy Ways to Get Organized written by Jill Cooper.

4. Another article on Mommysavers that is quick and easy to do is Ten Minute Tricks by Maria Gracia.

Another Handstamped Gift to Share

Today I am going to share another gift that was given at our Stampin' Up! Demonstrator Holiday Party that I held for my downline at my house on Saturday.  We have such wonderful demonstrators in our group that are not only great people, but also very talented stampers.

This gift was made by Carol Bertrand.  What a beautiful job she did on this project!

 

Here is a closeup shot of the stamped mat that Carol made.

 

Just think of how many frames you have around your house that you could spruce up by stamping on or altering the mat to coordinate with the photo inside!  If you want to play around with stamping on a mat in your frame, why not take a trip to your nearest dollar store and purchase a frame that you could practice altering.

VIDEO - PVC Bin Storage System for Tutorial Tuesday

Since we have been talking about organization the last two weeks, I thought that this video would be perfect to share. 

If you are you looking to simplify your storage needs and make it easier to get more organized, you should check out this video on building your own PVC Bin Storage System.  Someone on one of the groups I belong to shared this link.  I unfortunately saved only the link she shared and not her information in order to give her credit.  It is a great video that is worth checking out.  It is an easy, cost-effective solution to create for your storage needs that makes storing totes or storage bins very accessible and organized.

Gifts using Rub-ons from Demonstrator Holiday Party

WOW, did we have a great time at the holiday party on Saturday!  I love the demonstrators in my group.  They are so much fun to be with and such incredible stampers.  It is always a fun to get together and just awesome to see what everyone has created.  There was so much talent wrapped up in my house at this party!

Today I thought I would share an item Jacquie brought to share that she received as a gift as well as her gift from the "large" gift swap.  This is where everyone brings an item (valued at approximately $10) and I mark each gift with a number.  We all then draw a number from a basket to see which gift we get to take home with us.  The trick is being sure you know what number YOUR gift is so you don't pick your own present:))

Today I am going to show you TWO items from Saturday that were made with rub-ons.  Rub-ons are fantastic because they can stick to just about any surface.  I have seen them used not only on cardstock for cards and scrapbook pages, but also on glass, metal, vellum, fingernails and even textured surfaces like a fiberglass cast!

I have to apologize for the quality of the pictures.  We were all so excited to see everything that the photos were just snapped and we were on to the next gift.  I didn't realize that some of them didn't come out well until AFTER everyone left with their gifts.  I also didn't get pictures of the food or of the group of us that were there - bummer!  I love getting those types of pictures.  I guess I was busy running the meeting we had before the party and then hosting the party that I totally missed the best part - taking pictures!

 

Unfortunately I didn't get a very clear picture of this gift.  This was made by Jacquie Goodell.  Jacquie has been a demonstrator now for four years.  She altered this little candle gift set by using rub-ons on the suede purse and also on the cracked glass votive holder.  This was a pretty popular gift when it was opened.  It always amazes people to see rub-ons used on different surfaces.  It looks great and accents the items just beautifully!  I was teasing everyone that "I" belonged picking the number for THIS gift because I love the color green so much.  You know...I think I found a reason to say that about every gift that was opened:))

This framed scrapbook page was something that Jacquie brought with her to share.  Her best friend, Kelly, made this for her for Christmas. 

The kids in the picture are Kelly's and she used rub-ons both on the scrapbook page itself and also on the corners of the frame.  Kelly also used real leaves inside of the frame to showcase the leaves in the photo of her children.  What a beautiful gift idea!

I will share some more items with you this week.  I don't want to overwhelm your creative juices by showing you all these incredible projects today now do I?

Weekly Organization Tip - Sunday, January 4, 2009

Here we are in the beginning of a brand new year.  One of my resolutions this year is to be more organized.  To help ME to do that, I am posting a weekly Organization Tip or Organization Challenge on my blog every Sunday. 

ORGANIZATION TIP #2 - Clean out your email inbox.  Take a few moments today to weed through your email inbox.  Delete everything that you don't need - jokes, forwarded emails and anything else in there that you will not need to reference.  Once you do that, there shouldn't be much left.  Go through the remaining email in your inbox and either answer any necessary email or file them in folders for future reference.  If you can't go through your whole inbox today, that is okay.  Break this task down into 15 minute increments each day this week until you accomplish your goal of cleaning out your inbox.

Another helpful hint would be to put your email in order of who sent it so you can look at blocks of email all at one time and can either move the group to a file for reference later or delete them.
