Check out this mess!
This is a great close-up photo of a tree near my house. As you can see, there is about 3" of ice on the branches. What a mess!
This is a photo from the entrance of our driveway. The trees (that are left standing) are all curled over with ice.
This is another shot of a tree bent over at my house.
Another close-up of the ice...
This is a shot looking down a mountain from Route 100 in West Wardsboro which is the side of the mountain on which I live. Everything is really beautifully when it glistens in the sun. I don't know what the poor wildlife did during this mess. There were trees literally snapping every few minutes around us for approximately a 24 hour period. Hundreds upon hundreds of trees are down around us. The snowmobile trails must be completely ruined as well.
Here is another photo of the ice on the trees taken in my back yard. I spared you the photos of the downed trees and power lines. These photos are much prettier:)) Ok, so I am one that tries to see the positive in everything - this situation is testing my nerves though...
Hopefully more tomorrow. I am charging up my laptop at a friend's house that has power. He goes to Florida for the winter - smart man! However, he doesn't have a computer or internet connection, so I am parking outside of diners and Inns trying to check email and do some computer work. Unfortunately I can't spend much time online as there is still so much to do at home with getting water, taking care of our horses and keeping our woodstoves burning so our pipes don't freeze. I loved camping and girl scouts as a kid, but I have had enough of this life already - it has been four days since we had power and having horses during this type of weather is a whole other ball game. It is easier taking care of people in a warm house without frozen water buckets.
I hope all is well with the rest of you.

The photos of the ice on the trees are beautiful.
I hope you now have electricity and are able to continue look back on all the ice with the eyes of the artist.
Are you going to exhibit your photos at the Art Show for the Wardsboro 4th of July Street Fair?
