Tart & Tangy Birthday "Quick Card"

010How would like an idea for a card that is quick and easy to make?  Well, this card is all that and more.  It is a fast and classy card that you would be proud to give anyone for any occasion!

I decided to make this card a birthday card since I have a lot of summer birthdays coming up and it is a great one to make multiples of so you have them on hand to send right out.

Of course I used Designer Series Paper (from Stampin' Up!'s Occasions Mini Collection 2008 catalog) called Summer Picnic.  It is so bright and cheery and it happens to also match the adorable little stamp set called "Tart & Tangy".  The words are from a set called "Full of Life".  Both of those stamp sets are also from the same mini as the Designer Series Paper.  I guess I like the products in the mini this time around, don't I ?:)) 016

The layers with the strawberry were created with markers to color in the strawberry stamp and then the punches do the rest of the work.  I used two circle punches for layering and the scallop circle punch for the bottom layer.  Once assembled, I attached them to the card using Dimensionals to make that part of the card 'pop'.  It is just so "stinkin' cute"!

If you would like other ideas for quick and easy cards, you could contact me for a "Quick Card Class" kit to go.  All the supplies for your Quick Cards would all come in a kit, ready for you to assemble.  Contact me by email at happy.stamper@yahoo.com for more information.

Happy Stamping,

Seaside Wedding Guest Book

011

As promised, today I am posting my guest book that I made for my friend's wedding.

I have posted both the card I made for her and the wedding favors that she asked me to make for the reception.  In order to match the decorations, favors and theme of her reception, the guest book was also kept simple with a seashell theme.

I used a stamp set from Stampin' Up! called "Seaside.  I really love this stamp set and cannot wait to incorporate it into my scrapbooking.  I am actually going to make Janice and her hubby a custom scrapbook for her wedding photos using this stamp set and color scheme.  She has some great photos of her wedding ceremony on the beach in Jamaica that would look wonderful in a scrapbook.

For this guest book, I stamped the shells onto Creamy Caramel cardstock in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed them with Clear Embossing Powder.  I cut out each shell individually and placed them on my waves on the bottom of the book and then added some white gel pen both to the shells and to the side of the book to add some interest.  Janice wanted very simple decorations so I did not add any ribbon or anything too sparkly (other than clear embossing) to this book.

Happy stamping,

Lynn

Seashell Stamp Set Wedding Favors

007_2Wedding favors anyone?

As one of the services I offer, I make custom items for weddings, baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries and other special occasions.  This is one of the projects that I worked on this week for a friend of mine, Janice.

Janice and her husband went to Jamaica to get married on the beach.  They decided to do a wedding reception with their family and friends the week after they returned from their trip.  Janice wanted simple wedding favors with a beach theme for the tables and asked me to make 120 favors for her reception.

After picking the favor she wanted to use, I went to work punching out the cardstock, stamping the images and watercoloring the seashells.008

You can see from this picture how I assembled the bottom layer to the Peppermint Patties.  I made an assembly line and did about 40 favors at one time.

009_2

This final picture shows the assembly and stacking of the favors in piles of five so I could count the favors as I went along.

Yesterday I showed you the card I made for the wedding and today I featured the wedding favors.  Tomorrow you will see the coordinating guest book.

I would be happy to discuss creating custom favors, invitations, thank-you's, baby announcements, scrapbooks, gifts or other items designed for your special event.  You can email me at happy.stamper@yahoo.com for more information.

Happy stamping,

Lynn

Seaside Card

001_4 Here is a card that I made using the Seaside stamp set from Stampin' Up!  This set is has all shells in it and I love it for scrapbooking, making cards and gift items.  I recently used it to make wedding favors, a guest book for the wedding and this card to match the theme of the wedding for my friend and co-worker, Janice.

The shell was stamped in Chocolate Chip Craft ink and embossed with Crystal Clear Embossing Powder.  I colored the images in with marker and then cut out the top half of one of the shels and attached it to the other image using Dimensionals to give it more of a 3-D effect.

The background on the Ballet Blue cardstock is stamped with the Canvas Background stamp in Ballet Blue ink.  I used the ticket corner punch (one of my favorite punches) to punch all the layers of the card.  I also sponged the Ballet Blue layers of cardstock to give them a little dimension as well.  The ribbon is white taffeta and I also added three Ballet Blue brads to the top layer to help accentuate the focal point of the card.

Stay tuned tomorrow for a photo of the wedding favors!

HAPPY EASTER Place Setting Cards:))

066_2 Happy Easter everyone!  I wanted to get this post done last night so you would all receive it in your inbox on Easter, but my hubby and I stayed later at a wedding reception than we ever thought we would so I didn't have this ready to post until Easter day.

Anyway, I wanted to share my little place setting cards for my dinner table on Easter day.  I just love being creative with my punches and this little bunny is no exception.  Some of you have seen the other bunnies that I have made using punches for my candy wrappers  I thought that I would try something d060ifferent and use the scallop circle punch for his little face.  It makes him look a little furry, doesn't it?

Once I had my little bunny all punched out, I used a mini glue dot to attach the bunny head to a  Hershey's Kiss so it would stand up at my place settings.  I used the Word Window Punch to punch out the little tag on the side where I wrote each person's name that was coming for dinner.

I am so excited about my tablescape for Easter!  It will be so stinkin' cute:))  I have a potted Hyacinth and mini yellow daffodills that will be sitting in the center of the table as well.  I also have an adorable crystal basket that I will be filling with candy.  Anyone else want to come over for dinner and get a cute little bunny place setting card with candy to take home with you?

NEW Carousel Notes and Live Your Dream

314 What are Carousel Notes you ask?  Well, good question...  They are the scalloped circle that is shown in this picture in Groovy Guava.  They measure slightly less than 6" in diameter.  They come in three assorted colors per package - Groovy Guava, Soft Sky and Wild Wasabi.  What is even better is that they also come with fabulous Chocolate Chip envelopes!

I love the Designer Series Paper 'Afternoon Tea' which is the paper that is used on this sample.  The images match the ones found in the 'Live Your Dream' stamp set by Stampin' Up! and can be found in our Occasions Mini Catalog right now.  The accent ribbon is actually our new Chocolate Chip Twill Tape from the same mini.

The top layer is actually a circle that was cut out using our Coluzzle cutting system to make a flap front that opens.  This could be an actual card or an accent on a scrapbook page.  The punched hole in the top layer shows people where to open it.  It is also sponged in Close to Cocoa ink to make it stand out and to give it definition.

I am actually working on a bunch of projects using Carousel Notes for an upcoming event and class so stay tuned for samples later next month.  If you would like to sign up for my Carousel Notes class, then please email me at happy.stamper@yahoo.com for more information.

Happy Stamping,

Make Easter "Happy" with these Easter Bunny Candy Wrappers

001_2Check out this adorable little candy wrapper bunny made out of a variety of Stampin' Up! punches!

Anyone who knows me knows how much I love playing around with punches.  I make all kinds of punched art using them.  These cute little bunny heads were something I played around with last year.  This year I thought it would be fun to add them to some wrapped candy for a little added "punch" for Easter.  004_3The little turned up ear makes the bunny so "stinkin' cute"!

I almost wish the my kids were younger so that they would actually appreciate these cute little critters...  Don't tell them, but I am probably making them some for Easter as well.  They might think they are corny, but I think they are adorable.  Besides, I have made so many of these in so many colors that I have to give them to someone:))002_3

I have been making these at my workshops this month and at my Spring Gift & Giving Classes.  People have really been loving them.

A Good Egg - Peek-a-Boo Treat Holder

057_2Here are two more little treat holders that I have been making at my Spring/Easter Gift Classes.

The scalloped edge was created by using my Stampin' Up! Corner Rounder Punch.  The two treat holders shown here use two different types of scalloped trim.  The yellow one just adds the trim and the green one adds words on the scalloped piece and then used as the trim.  Both are really cute, it just depends on your mood when you are creating your project.053

The inside of the treat holder looks like this.  I ran out of the little bunnies covered in foil to peak through the center of the window, so you will have to settle for a nice piece of Hershey's dark chocolate mini candy bar:))  Since the words were not stamped on my scalloped trim like I did on the green sample, I thought it would be nice to add it to the bottom of the project so that it could be seen when the top flap is both open or closed.

I originally started showing this project in Wild Wasabi (green), but then changed the color to So Saffron when I tossed in another item in my gift class that also had green in it.  I wanted the projects to be different not only in looks, but in color scheme as well.  You all know how much I love green:))  What do you think about these two color choices?

The possibilities are endless when you create a project like this.  The themes that you could use for these little guys are also endless.  What might you need a project like this for?  Can you imagine what colors you would like to use?  If you aren't sure of the colors, a great place to start is by picking out favorite color or colors and building upon that.

As always, if you have any questions or need any help creating your project feel free to contact me at happy.stamper@yahoo.com.

Happy stamping!

Easter Door Hanger Gift Box

048 I have been pretty busy lately making up cute little Easter Gift items for my Spring Gift Classes.  I have not been able to share them on my blog until now because I didn't finish all my classes and didn't want people to see the items until we had our class.

My last Easter-themed Gift Class is tonight so I can finally post some of my samples!  This adorable little door hanger gift box is a great gift idea.  You can leave it on your children's door, on your neighbors door, a door in your home, etc. and leave little treats in it.  It would be great to change the theme or color scheme and include items inside like candy, notecards, seed packets for spring gardening, etc.  Let your imagination run wild.  What about making this up in a birthday theme and leaving on your child's door for them to find when they wake up in the morning?

This sample is made using all Stampin' Up! products.  I used A Good Egg stamp set, Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series Paper, Almost Amethyst and Whisper White cardstock.

The scalloped trim on the top and bottom of the front of the box is made by using the corner rounder punch with the plastic guide carefully taken off of the punch.  I added white grosgrain ribbon and used Going Gray, So Saffron and Pumpkin Pie Watercolor Wonder Crayons to color in the chick and the egg.  When cutting out the chick, I cheated a little by cutting it's legs right off so I could then draw them on with my Basic Black Stampn' Write marker - much easier than cutting them out!

Be sure to check my class schedule for April and May for other gift classes with items that can be used for Spring, Birthdays, Mother's Day, Weddings, Baby Gifts and Vacations.

"Live Your Dream" using Black Magic with a Twist!

021_4 I just love the way this card turned out!  I created it for a card swap with other Stampin' Up! demonstrators for the new Occasions Mini Catalog using the "Live Your Dream" stamp set.  I wanted to do a special card with a "WOW" factor to it.  It is a card that I give to very special people in my life.

The flowers, using the Black Magic Technique, just pop right off the card, but adding a 'twist' as I call it with a white gel pen really makes the flowers stand out and accentuate the details.

This technique is done by using dark colored cardstock, white craft ink, pure color pencils and white gel pen.

I highlighted this card and the tutorial for making this card in my March newsletter.  You can subscribe to my newsletter that will include a new technique or product focus each month.  I also include a card sketch challenge each month where you can win a free gift from me if you win the challenge for the month.  Sign up and check it out!

Happy stamping!
